You already know that carmageddon is the most awesome pedestrian killing car crashing, racing game ever made and pretty much the only one worth playing to this day!
The original devs of the game finally managed to get their rights back from SCI after 15 years and now want to make a Carmageddon sequel called Carmageddon Reincarnation.
They've set up a Kickstarter.com page a few days ago and even though in the first few days the donations exploded and moved very fast, since 3 days now, they have slowed down very much!!!
They need to get to 400.000 bucks in order to get to keep the money, otherwise if they fail the goal in 21 days, kickstarter will send all the money back to their donors and the game won't be made anymore!
So if you want to get a sequel to the most awesome and gruesome racing game ever, DONATE NOW HERE AT THIS LINK AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-reincarnation

And spread the news everywhere you can!
This needs to happen for all the reasons in the world!!!

Update: They added a new video to express their thanks and to ask the fans of legendary game series Carmageddon to spread the word and donate!

For those of you that haven't heard about this recently, read up here:
http://www.dayzmod.com/

I'm surprised no one has already created a topic about this, since it's rapidly gaining popularity in the world of PC gaming. So has anyone else here been playing it? I've played it several times this week, and it's just awesome. I haven't had an experience playing a game like this in a long time. Even in its buggy alpha state, the game has made me feel genuine fear, tension and paranoia. Creeping through a zombie infested town scavenging for supplies was one of the scariest things I've played recently. And the zombies aren't the least of your problems, its the other players that adds the element of unpredictability. You never know if another "friendly" player is going to cap you in the back of the head and steal your stuff. Playing with some friends makes it even more enjoyable, if you can find each other in the enormous map.

But really, there must be a reason Arma 2 has jumped to the top sellers on steam. It's telling me that people are longing for these kind of emergent games. Ones where they're just dropped in to the world with some basic supplies and no instructions. With this much attention, I wouldn't be surprised if a studio picked it up and developed it in to a fully fledged game. It has huge potential. Just as long as they don't dumb it down, because i think one of the main draws is just how harsh and brutal it is. So, anyone else got any thoughts or stories about Day Z?

Hey

I'm a trainee ICT technician, but haven't a huge amount of knowledge when it comes to scripting. The most I've really used cmd and MS-DOS for is running old games back in the days of apogee. *sigh* ah the memories...

Anyways One of my tasks at my job is to keep an eye on the users to make sure that they aren't into stuff they shouldn't be. This also includes making sure that they aren't using company laptops to store pirated media.

I'm trying to write a batch file that can run the dir command on the network at work to display a list of all the files in a number of different locations. 'tisn't working for me. This is what I'm trying to run:

runas /user:domain\username "dir \\computername\c$"

It then prompts me for a password, then gives the following error:
2: The system cannot find the file specified.

Anyone got any ideas?

My dad wants a new office computer and his boss is willing to shell out 500 for it. He's commissioned me to do pick it out. He won't be doing anything strenuous, just web surfing and word processing, and all that on a 1024x768 CRT he insists on still using. I plan on assembling a barebones and installing windows 7 professional (his boss insists it be professional) and a wireless card from his old desktop.

Here are the four options I've found so far:
Computer 1

Hello fellow pirates, rapists, and pillagers... oh wait! Wrong speech!

Hello fellow modders.

I've decided to post this up as I have thought of creating an intense single player mod with the potential to be multiplayer and already started to build some levels and have started writing the story to follow. I need a hard working reliable team that can use the Source Engine to its full potential and push the boundaries of the game engine. People that are willing to take orders like mindless drones but also throw their own ideas into the mix of things without going too far off topic or away from the script. You will also need to be open to constructive criticism and who can work and script to the thing I want for the mod to give you a real sense of the environment.
I'm looking for;
•	Experienced Mod Creators - To help copy game files and place the mod in one place and write simple installation programs.
•	Modellers - For the creation of London's objects, weapons and characters. (People, Cars, busses, police, soldiers, weapons)
•	World Builders (Experience preferred) - to create highly detailed worlds in Valve's Hammer Editor and creating puzzles to prevent you getting from a-b for the ultimate experience.
•	Animators - To add life to models, characters and weapons.
•	Scripter's\Coders - To manipulate things to make them how we want them and put the game together and create cutscenes
•	Texture Artists - Creating detailed high resolution textures and bump maps for each map, characters and weapons...
•	2D Artists - To draw comic book style images for cut scenes.
•	Sound engineers - To record some authentic sounds to throw into the game creating the best moods and experiences for the players.

The Mod:

AXIOM (Ax-e-om)
The word "axiom" comes from the Greek word axioma, a verbal noun from the verb axioein, meaning "to deem worthy" or in a modern concept "truth".

The Plot:
The story or plot will be set in the not too distant future in the bleak depths of society in a once thriving city (London) which is now under the oppressive watch of the goverments counter-terrorism act. Surrounded by check points and police, held under the grasp and control of the Army everyone is being watched.

You are a normal man, an artist in the wrong place at the wrong time... Framed for a crime you did not commit... A terrorist attack and the blame has been pinned on you.

•	Your adventure would take you from some of the city's famous locations. Marvel in the wonders of Piccadilly circus, Big Ben and houses of parliament, Battersea power station and some of the less popular underworld of London as you go on the run from the government in search of the truth.
•	Use your friends, and various gang land contacts to fight your way through the streets, sewers and buildings around London acquiring realistic weapons to defend yourself.
•	Take the challenge and navigate your way around each map with puzzles and hordes of police and soldiers.

To summarise:
If you think you might like the sound of this project visit my website at;
Contact me through my website with a reference to your work (e.g. pictures, web portfolio etc) and I will forward you a small part of the script to opening scene of this game.

Project: Corset PS2 (Completed)

Hi Everyone,

I wasnīt planning on doing a worklog on this project as it was made as a pressent for the missus who loved her playstation 2 to play the tekken games but unfortunately it broke a few months back. So for her birthday I decided I would buy one and combine it with her other passion, corsets.

Now Iīve never owned a PS2 before nor have I opened one so I had to look it up and so on. Luckily I quickly found out that they are quite simple to take apart so that made my life easier. I also found out that the plastic they are made out is rather bad, and it was extremely hard to sand it down to get smooth edges. Iīm not entirely happy with how the back window cut came out but I am extremely happy on how the final thing looked.

So here are 27 pictures from start to finish, most of them from the finish as I didnīt plan to do a worklog out of it, I hope you enjoy them, thanks for reading.

PS: The missus was delighted and loves her birthday pressie : )

Basically, my friend recommended to use a laptop stand. How well would that work? I've been reduced to lifting my laptop up during loading times to prevent it from overhating...It doesn't seem to prevent it, but it sure seems to make it overheat a lot later. Obviously, it only overheats when playing a game, which would be fine, but I play games a lot, and my computer shutting down randomly isn't the preferred way for me to stop playing. Well, basically, what are the differences between a cooling pad and a laptop stand? What would work better to cool down my laptop, and, on average, how much do they cost? And where can I find them? Also, I have no access to a credit card what-so-ever, so I can only buy things in retail. If you have any specific, recommendations, do post them. Thanks for your time!
