I'm really sorry if this question has been asked RECENTLY, I haven't kept good tabs on BM information recently, but, is there any new news on whether or not BM will be released over steam servers? Since it's getting closer to the game's release, have you guys talked to Valve at all about the subject or have they contacted you? Or anything of the sort?

Aw, kinda disappointed there, I was hoping the Xen turret would be improved somehow and be used by alien grunts about as often as the HECU Turret is used by the human grunts, would have made battles more interesting, and I always liked how Xen had its own turret like the HECU had theirs and the contrast of it. Oh well, whatever, I guess I'll have to deal with it.
More questions: Can NPCs heal themselves in any way? If so, which ones and how? which other NPCs have armoring that works like Alien Grunt's (i.e. reduces damages done if shot in the armored part)? Last edited by _L1pE_BR; 29-06-12 at 20:10.. |

Okay, so to quote GLaDOS's line from Portal 2, "it's been a LOOOONG time" since I posted anything on this thread, but this is what I wanted to post:
I don't mind you putting original music in the mod that might not fit the atmosphere as well as the original music, but can you PLEEEEASE put the Valve theme in the scene where you see the HECU jetfighters with the cliffs in the background through the pipe you're walking in! It's probably one of the most memorable scenes in the game, and the music in the entire game makes a highly memorable part (for those who played it with Half-Life Source or, if they played the original 1998 GoldSrc Half-Life instead, actually remembered to keep the CD inside the drive) - So I assure you that adding the original music to go with this part would increase nostalgic value a lot. Talking about that just reminded me of something that hasn't been seen in any Valve game for a very long time: Alyx! The last time we had a Half-Life game it ended with her crying after the death of her father (who happened to be one of Freeman's fellow scientists who operated the test in Anomalous Materials), but she's doing this for 5 years already! I wonder if Episode 3 is actually being worked on at the moment. It needs to pick up where it left off at some point in the near future. |

If you want that, replace the appropriate .mp3 with the one you want. Seriously, it takes five fucking seconds. |

Well, I'll probably agree with Disturbulator. But the question was directed any member of the mod's dev team. Maybe Raminator. And I'm not sure Disturbulator is in there so I don't think he can speak for the developers of Black Mesa.

Senior members of the forum know the answers to these kind of questions, now go be annoying somewhere else.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be annoying. I just wanted to get my answers from someone more trustable, i.e. someone who actually works on the mod.

The question got answered. As he said, you can replace sound files with the ones you want. You can do it in any source game, you just need to know what the mp3 (or the audio file) is called and name it appropriately. Stop posting about it, you can end up getting yourself banned due to your behavior. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Did anyone confirm that there was a music trigger at that point in BM? No? So his question is not answered.
It's one thing to have the devs choose not to reply to a given question (and in that specific case it is only natural), it's something else altogether to have people who are not in the know give a partial answer to the question without the certainty that they are right. |

Okay, I'm stopping, I'm moving on to another subject - How far are you about into the project? What episodes are you most progressed on?
