      No problem ^^

After more investigations we have figured out the problem and fixed it.

      ToNiO44's server is working.

The problem is not related to Debian 8 compatibility as we've initially thought.

    • well now my server BMS works with help of AvoidPaypal :)

he give me another command line, and i don't know why it's works now

of course thx you so much AvoidPaypal for this command line

for all admins on Debian 7 or 8

you need to use the command line:

./srcds_run -game bms -strictportbind -ip yourip -port yourport +clientport yourclientport +tv_port yoursourcetvport +map defaultmap -maxplayers 20 +sv_pure +exec server -tickrate 66

apparently other admin on ubuntu or centos can use a basic command:

      ./srcds_run -game bms +sv_pure 0 +map dm_gasworks

do not ask me why I don't know why :P

I never seen this before ^^ and i don't why command basic doesn't works on debian

and yet I have already made servers under HL2 before

I want to apologize to the devs as used your time with my little problem

thx again AvoidPaypal for your help

I think the will is no longer supported (-tickrate 66) Black Mesa runs with 64 as far as I noticed it .... I may be wrong
and you must not use the commands (+sv_pure 0 +exec server)

      test this one:

      cd server/bms
      screen ./srcds_run -game bms +ip 176.9.155.153 +port 28710 +map dm_rocks_zibatower -maxplayers 20

Great patch ! Unfortunately, the "clicking the options crashes the game" is not resolved, making me impossible to change difficulty or more important resolution (playing 1366 on a 1980 screen is really weird ^^)

PS : Btw, it crashes the game without any .dmp left in the steam directory.
It's only a work-around, but you can use launch parameters to get your resolution working.

      Source Code

      1. -w <width> or -width <width> - Forces the engine to start with resolution set to <width>. Ex: -w 1024.
      2. -h <height> or -height <height>- Forces the engine to start with resolution set to <height>. Ex: -h 768.
And I'm pretty sure you can change difficulty with the console.

      Source Code

      1. sk_dmg_take_scale 0.5, 1, 2 1 on easy, 2 on medium, and 3 on hard

Thank you ! I still hope this matter will be fixed soon but in the time being, that'll do !
    • Hello,
I'm trying to play custom sounds on my multiplayer server, but i'm having some issues. Whenever i'm trying to play a .mp3 sound my client console tells me the sound is not on my disk, but it's definitely there. When i'm playing custom .wav sounds, they are working fine. But since .wav sounds have a huge filesize, i tried to convert them to .ogg files. When playing the .ogg sounds, the console tells me they have an invalid sample rate of 44000, even tho the default sounds of black mesa are in 44000 hz. I've tried to change the sample rate to 32k, but it's not working either. Can you help me?
    • You cannot use mp3s, we do not support them. I believe our oggs are in 41000 sample rate, or something like that. Just play around with the settings till it works. We support oggs. They also have to be 16 bit.

    • As i've mentioned earlier in this post and in another post previous to this patch being released; this game runs Very bad when a lot of players are online, i (and everyone else i know that has black mesa, no single exception) suffer from extremely low fps, constant stutter and constant freezes.

I've took a screenshot of CPU + GPU usage while playing so you can see the hardware is not even close to being maxed out, please consider having game performance optimizations as a top priority.

Here are ~2 min of random in game footage to see what me (and everyone else i know that has black mesa) experience when a lot of players are online: dailymotion.com/video/k2ZtQCWR2CComgbhdqi

      agree with the above
unbearable lags occur depending on how many players are on the server
also the lags seem pretty random, not directly related to open/narrow/crowded areas, it's just very choppy everywhere and reconnecting usually fixes the issue for a short period of time
      i7 4790k, GTX980, 16gb ram, Win 8.1 x64
will report back with detailed screenshots of hardware load if need be, don't have any monitoring utility handy (my graphics card's fan won't speed up while gaming so...)

Oh wow, that is horrendous. First time we've really seen that in action. We'll have to figure out a way to investigate and debug this.

It may potentially be down to the servers. Do you experience this on our official servers?

Nope, it is not server related (you can see it keeps 64upd rate constant in net_graph 1), i can also post some net_graph 4 screens if you would like, or you could come test it yourself any time you wish, you will find it behaves exemplary.

The issue happens on official servers as well, it happens everywhere and on any map when the player count is high.
    • I can definitely echo the performance issues. I don't have too much in the way of framerate hiccups, but there's a lot of "lag stutter" going on. Usually my ping is between 50 and 100, but it feels way higher than that.

I think this is a big part of why the Gluon gun seems so unbalanced. It ends up feeling like the damn thing is completely unavoidable. Not fun.

EDIT: I see your dislike there, person-who-I-won't-point-out. No, I'm not saying "Nerf the Gluon gun, it's OP," I'm saying that I think the performance issues in MP are part of why some people are finding it hard to deal with. Even if that isn't the case, that doesn't change the fact that the performance bugs in MP are definitely not fun to deal with.
