I remember scientists and guards having a certain 'rank' like levels or something. Does anyone know the security clearances and ranks for Black Mesa?
We are currently aware of recent issues preventing new users from signing up and logging in with their Steam IDs. We are working on a fix.
There are at least four known security 'levels' (1 - 4, from television screens in Anomalous Materials) as well as four descriptors occasionally used (signs mention a Low, Medium, and High security storage facility, as well as just a storage facility with no security tag); places like the Lambda Complex and Biodome might have higher security clearances not made known to the rest of the facility.
Gordon's position is given as 'research associate', which is a real position and actually a pretty low-ranking one. Presumably, there are senior researchers above that but none are ever described.
Gordon have rank 3 as shown at start I think. I wonder which rank did Kleiner have, or if he did know where samples come from.
think everyone in sector C would likely be rank 3 do to the game directly telling you that it is level 3 clearance required (at least half life does). I think the only rank that would know about xen would be rank 4 with specific area knowledge, like the biodome area and the questionalbe ethics area know about the xen creatures but likely do not know about the teleporation experments.
According to the TV in Anomalous Materials, the security levels (at least for that section) are broken down as follows:
Access to immediate test labs and staff relaxation areas.
Level 1 access, with security clearance for administration and server control rooms.
Level 2 access, with security clearance for test chamber controls, test chambers, and maintenance areas.
Unrestricted access to all lab areas.
So it looks like each individual lab has different security levels in it, although they also seem to be standardized to the 1-4 system.
