So I’m playing around with some diffrent sites to discover new music. If you feel like zapping is forgotify is pretty interesting. It basically let’s you listen to songs on spotify that were hardly heard at all. You can skip through each track until you find something that might catch your interest. It’s kind of fun to check out randomly unheard stuff instead of having algorithmns figuring out what you like and what not. Obviously most of the stuff is pretty trashy, but you’ll get some surprises every now and then.
There’s an youtube equivalent, too, if you feel like watching highschool sport matches and thai weddings. Go to: astronaut.io
Another great way to discover music is through radiooooo.com. It gives you a world map and a set of decades to choose from (anything from 1900 to now). Pick a country and a decade and off you go listening to music from that country from that decade. It’s pretty fun and it’s constantly expanded by the community. Turns out music from the 60s and 70s is pretty much great no matter from what country…yes, from Nigeria, too.
